The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle-earth App Reviews

The game has taken a tremendous nose dive since the new owners took over. Competitions are repetitive and not worthwhile. Technical issues have added to the frustrations. Most importantly the game play has stalled. The new owners have not added anything interesting to the story line to make playing the game challenging or rewarding. Its time to find another game and let the game developers develop their own game making skills.

Threatening to ban players for tying in events was the second to last straw. Getting locked out of events by a "server busy" message was the actual last straw. Played this for 4 years, multiple servers. It used to be fun but now is glitching more than ever, with more repetition tapping than anything else. Developers arent listening to the players and its a snooze fest now designed to milk every penny they can get. Spinning wheels instead of fighting. Tapping thousands of chests within chests. And competing against bots. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I have played this game for years, its not worth it anymore. Every series is setup only for them to make money. Every time you contact support on lost tokens or Mithril ( in game money) and other game items. They never replace it. " we check the game and it was fine". "we will let our support team know". These are the two comments I have had as a reply. In other words tuff luck. So if you play DONT BUY NOTHING. if you lose it you tuff out of luck.

Unless you enjoy someone asking you for money daily while also threatening to ban you for not giving them enough money, I would not recommend this game.

Dont waste your time or money. Used to be awesome. Gaea has ruined it. They care only about their bonuses, apparently, such that you can only stay competitive if you spend a lot of money! If you play strategically as a team, they threaten to ban you, without tos violations, I might add. Additionally, our server is dying and they continue to put us with merged worlds in x world tournaments, which is the only reason to continue to play. Basically...bs.

Been playing since the beginning and in the last 3 months it has become repetitive in competitions, which are just ways to ask for more money, or spin the wheel for cheesy prizes.

Recent upgrade screwed up everything, you are asked to spend money everynow and then when you try to upgrade anything. This used to be a great game but not anymore. Quiting the game caz of this crapy upgrade. Thanks for the Upgrade. You saved my life .... Now this game is no more than a BS... full of bugs and bugs ... worst customer care ... they dnt respond back when u report a problem or a bug.. horrible game stay away... cant rate zero else wud have rated zero..

This old Kabam app was taken over by GAEA. When Kabam had control it was enjoyable and somewhat worth the investment of time and sometimes money, GAEA has totally destroyed this game and players are leaving it in droves. In fairness GAEA purchased game after all books and movies had come out and players were already starting to leave, but GAEA has accelerated this process by rarely having tournaments, having awful rewards for tournaments they do have, and giving away useless junk that newusers of 2 years ago could have appreciated. This app is a Complete waste of time and money and a perfect example of how not to keep your customers.

Do not! I repeat...Do not support this company. It is a joke. This has to be the worst game errors and issues I have ever experienced in a game. Ive played this game for years and the support team is absolutely useless if not none existent. iOS 10 has been out to developers for months and just another incompetent issue for this game. What a disgrace that they ask there customers not to upgrade there iOS so they can get there sh*t together. I would be ashamed to even say such a thing when every other app works fine. I would give them zero stars if I could.

Game could use more research perks or higher upgrades because at the point of the game where you have everything on max level, it is considered pretty useless aside donating rss to guild.

This is a complex and fun game. It takes time and thought, but is very entertaining and enjoyable. It takes skill as well as the ability to make friends in alliances. The current update is working well for me.

Glitchy, poorly run, dead. Need I say more?

Theres a lot of hate out for gaea and kabam and the Devs of this game. But honestly for me, its been the best war game Ive played on the App Store. I could never get into CoC or game of war, but this game got me hooked and Ive been playing on and off for years, so dont be afraid to play it or come back to it! Its a great game. There are still good people and still good gameplay to be had. Find an alliance thats active and enjoy making friends and fighting to rule middle earth ;P

To bad Supercell didnt get this game. They take care of all players not just the wallet warriors. This could be an awesome game but it lacks any visual battle scenes and Kabam/Gaea have no interest in players that cant afford to put a lot of money into this game. It is slowly dying out.

When gaea bought the game from Kabam the game was in terrible shape. To give gaea credit they have done a better job balancing the game out. To the hobbit team I would suggest unlocking alliance level and up it to 100. Better alliance buffs, current are outdated. Has been the same since the release. Another Sever merge would be nice on the older servers. I could really go on all day however, im going to give 4 stars for this version good to see new gems gear ect ect..

Gaea seems to think that adding something new every week is what the players want. The game is now a never ending spinathon or spendathon. Chs and schs are the only things that require any skill at all. The top allis thrive and small allis can never move up. Mining and rss are now irrelevant. I hate to say it, but I miss incompetent Kabam. You want a war game, get CoC. If you have too much money and want to burn it on something other than weed, get this.

** update ** Upgrade to 2 stars. This game is average. Impossible to keep up with if you have a life outside of cyber land. It still glitches entirely too much. Ive been playing for several years now and have gotten to the point where it just isnt fun. Dont waste your time or money on this game. ** previous review ** When glitches in the game occur and you lose troops or resources, Kabam will not make you whole. A glitch caused me to lose troops back in May. Filed a report and they never responded. Filed another report. No response. The company is a joke. The game could be fun but the constant glitches and down time make it impossible to play consistently. Dont waste your time on this game!!

The game cost way too much to play other games by Gaea or their competition and the prices are half the price or less and you get double or triple what we get in this game it is out rages amount the game cost to play it could be an even better game if it wasnt so costly.

Honestly, I used to complain about not being able to win anything in this game. I am just referring to the competition with the game itself and not against other players. (But now Gagea has completely altered that and made it ridiculous by giving you massive amounts of items you dont even need if you happen to win now.) It seemed that the odds were stacked against me to do anything in a meaningful time frame. When a wheel comes up I maintain an 84% probability that a bronze chest will be the result of the spin. Sometimes repeatedly up to eight times in a row Ive recorded. There are no odds that Ive ever heard of that would come up eight times in a row, unless the game is showing an unfair advantage. I also consider a game something interesting and fun to play. With this game however, you are almost in real life time doing things which makes building anything agonizingly painful. The higher you get with building cities the longer it takes in real world hours to create such things. I compare it to building a real house! And for the most part the only way to speed the process is to when our glasses which can take a lot of time as well. However as youre probably going to guess you can just purchase an hourglass, or other items to advance you. The problem is the prices in which they are charging one dollar to $20 on any game Ive ever seen seems reasonable but in this game here there are things that cost $100!! I can buy any Xbox or PlayStation game top price brand-new for $59 and play it forever and interact online with it no extra charge from that game. Unless you have deep pockets this game will become boring and tedious very quickly I suggest you spend your money elsewhere.
